I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
[Gal 2:20]
ABOUT ME
Who am I?
My name is Jim Jansson and I live in Arboga where I serve as an elder in the Pentecostal Church. If you want to know more about me and my journey to faith, you can read the sermon " From Jacob to Jim " here on the blog.
Why the name "JIM - Jesus in me" on the blog?
The name Jim comes from the English name James which in turn comes from the name Jacob. Jacob means "he who holds the heel" or "the deceiver". So my name "Jim" can be said to mean "the deceiver". It's encouraging.
But then, once when we had a visit to the church and I introduced myself, I got the answer "do you know what Jim means?". I smiled and thought I would hear about the "deceiver" but instead heard "Jesus in me!". I had never thought of that before! Jesus in me. Now that is encouraging!
When I was about to make this blog and needed a name, I thought that "Jesus in me" would fit very well. Because on the blog I share thoughts about the Bible; sermons and other things that have to do with Jesus and the Christian faith. In that way, "JIM - Jesus in me" becomes personal but still with a focus on Jesus. Jesus in me - not Jim in me.
The purpose of the blog
As Christians, we have two main missions: to glorify God [Matthew 22: 37-38] and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ [Matthew 22:39]. My prayer is that everything I write and share here can do just that. That it may glorify - and point to - God and to some extent reflect His glory, but also that it may be a blessing to other people and bring them closer to Jesus.
Thank you for reading this blog!
I hope your faith will be strengthened and that you will be encouraged, but also challenged, to serve the Lord more wholeheartedly as you read the posts.
God bless you!
Regards Jim Jansson.
